Father’s Day Style with Beth Jones
Think moms were the only original style icons? Don’t forget about dad. In honor of Father’s Day, our go-to vintage guru Beth Jones of B. Jones Style shows us her fave menswear looks inspired by none other than her own dad. From workout wear to a throwback look we love, this is our ode to dad.
“I paired this Daydreamer Led Zeppelin Celebration Weekend with a pair of Levi's Luxor 501 Street Shorts and a Black Terry Wave Bucket Hat from Lack of Color for an off-duty look inspired by my dad’s love of weekend adventures, which usually meant time spent on the water, exploring, or climbing trees. A bit of a science nerd, he would share how the tides work, why the thunder rolls, and what type of tree we were climbing. Now he gets to do it all over again with my two boys!”
“One of my favorite memories of my dad is his daily post-work run. Right when he’d get home, he’d change and head out for a run then come home, dripping sweat, and give me a big sweaty hug. Every. Single. Time. It was tradition! Here I paired the Black High-Rise Bike Short from Girlfriend Collective with the LACAUSA Seaweed Cora Tank, Moon Parker Button Up, and Champagne Crystal Remmy Sunglasses for a workout look that’s androgynous but flattering and feminine.”
“I went full seventies in the Levi's Nine To Five Ribcage Utility Jeans, Rose Hard Crimes Frames, Black Houndstooth Buckle Belt, and Dr. Martens Black Virginia 1461 for a look inspired by my dad growing into a self-made man. He left home at 17 and worked his butt off to find opportunities, spending every summer selling books door-to-door. He made enough of an impression as a salesman that he was recruited to help develop real estate on a little island in the south. He worked hard to support and provide for our family and still takes on each day with that same type of determination. He might be 73, but he acts like he's 25. Love you, dad!”
